About Us

Amplifying Asian American Voices, Every Story Matters.

Hey there! Welcome to the Tarita Foundation, a Non-Profit dedicated to reclaiming and amplifying Asian American history in the United States. Through research, advocacy, and public outreach, we aim to ensure that Asian American narratives are integrated into educational curricula, celebrated in the public sphere, and understood by all. Additionally, we seek to create a space where Asian Americans can share their experiences, connect with one another, and find commonality within their diverse backgrounds.

Our
Story

Get to Know Us

Hi, I’m Jeffrey, founder of the Tarita Foundation. I started this organization after realizing how little I—and many of my peers—knew about Asian American history. Growing up, I’d never learned about things like the Chinese Exclusion Act or the long history of anti-Asian immigration laws in school.

When I moved to the U.S. three years ago, I began digging into these stories and quickly realized I wasn’t alone. So many Asian Americans I knew felt disconnected from their own histories—not out of disinterest, but because those stories were missing from the classroom.

That realization pushed me to take action. I created the Tarita Foundation to raise awareness, empower others, and make sure our histories are seen, heard, and celebrated.

Our Mission

Tarita Review

Our seasonal publication features original works exploring Asian American history, identity, and impact. With a selective 20% acceptance rate, we publish four powerful pieces each season (Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer) — from essays and fiction to music, poetry, and visual art, along with analysis.

Curriculum & Advocacy

We work to correct historical inaccuracies in textbooks and advocate for the inclusion of Asian American histories in public education. Through legislative outreach, educator resources, and school partnerships, we aim to rewrite how history is taught.

Research & Archives

We conduct primary-sourced research uncovering untold Asian American stories across the Americas. Our archive serves as a living repository for educators, scholars, and communities seeking accurate and inclusive historical narratives.
